Hebert’s Specialty Meats was started by brothers Sammy and Junior Hebert in Maurice, LA in August 1984 and are famous for their deboned stuffed chickens and turducken. Mike Stone, co-owner of the Prairieville franchise, was introduced to Hebert’s in 2005 when the company he worked for transferred him to Lafayette. Mike and his family moved back to Gonzales in the summer of 2010 and never found a store offering the same quality as Hebert’s. After 21 years in the corporate world, Mike’s company went through a restructure and he was downsized. While talking to his wife, daughter, and son-in-law he mentioned the idea of opening an Hebert’s and his son-in-law, Jesse Benedetto said he would gladly be his business partner. The first meeting with Hebert’s had to be postponed because of the flood in the fall of 2016 when most of south Louisiana was under water. Stone and Benedetto signed on shortly after and are excited and proud to serve the community of Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish.
Currently Hebert’s Specialty Meats have franchises located in Tulsa, OK, Houston, TX, and Lake Charles.
